Turkish President Erdogan declared that Turkey now produces more agricultural products than any other European country, with annual sector revenue of US$ 61 billion.  He also announced a campaign to more than double production in eight years, with a goal of exporting US$ 40 billion annually by 2023.  However the country, which remains one of the ‘Fragile Five’ in emerging markets due to its vulnerability in the ongoing US dollar rally, also cited food price rises as the primary contributor to persistent high inflation.
